World class! For me this is what best describe a Filipino talent... be it in sports or entertainment industry. After a very inspiring rich success of our very own Charice Pempengco who is now a renowned international song artist, here comes another Filipino pride rocking their way to the United Kingdom music scene.
Firefalldown... this is what these Filipino-British trio composed of Jon Blaylock (vocals/guitar), Joel Sablayan (bassist) and Andrew Hodgson (drummer) call themselves. At first glance, you would thought that they are just another typical rock group but mind you they're not.
Through the musical influence of UK indie rock, skate punk and Motown, the band had successfully come up with their own brand of music that is driven by passion to inspire and encourage people to make a difference by living out their God-given dreams.
I have listened to their debut single called "Commissioned" which has just been recently released by Sonic Juan Records. Lyrically, the song is meant to stir people out of their apathy towards important questions in life. For me this is a very timely discovery. The song made me realize that there is more to life than just living it the ordinary way.
